FIAT BR 20M Cicogna (Italian: stork) is an Italian medium, twin-engine bomber from the Second World War. The prototype of the BR 20 bomber made its first flight on February 10, 1936. The main power unit were two Fiat A.80 RC.41 engines with a power of 1000HP. When it entered the line units in 1937, it was the first fully metal Regia Aeronautica bomber and one of the most modern bombers in its class in the world. He did a great job during the Spanish Civil War. Also, 85 copies exported to Japan proved their quality in the war with the USSR. Unfortunately, from 1940, the BR20M was a rapidly aging machine, which, despite attempts to modify it, did not meet the requirements of the battlefield. In the years 1940-1942, the plane fought in North Africa, in the Balkans and took part in the first year of the war with the Soviet Union. However, from 1942 on a large scale, the FIAT BR 20M was used primarily for sea patrols and training bomber crews. By 1945, around 600 aircraft had been produced. Technical data: Maximum speed: 440 km / h, speed of climb: m / s, maximum ceiling 8000 m, maximum range: 2750 km, armament: fixed-3 Breda-SAFAT machine guns cal. 12.7 mm, suspended - up to 1600 kg bombs .
