Spahi was a French destroyer (another classification destroyer) from the First World War and the interwar period. The vessel was launched in May 1908, and it entered service in the French Marine Nationale in 1910. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 64.6 meters, width 6.1 meters. Full displacement reached approx. 630 tons, and maximum speed - approx. 28-29 knots. At the time of launching, the on-board armament of the unit consisted of 6 65 mm guns and 3 450 mm torpedo tubes.
Spahi was the leading unit of the destroyer class of the same name. The Spahi class ships were designed and built to complement the Claymore class. Compared to them, they had more powerful torpedo armament, slightly higher displacement with similar performance. During World War I, Spahi, along with other units of its class, joined the 2nd Destroyer Squadron, which operated in the Mediterranean. It was supposed to play the role of a specific formation of long-range escorts, but the autonomy of the Spahi-class destroyers and the relatively small size meant that the ships did not perform their tasks very effectively. Spahi survived the war and was decommissioned in 1927.
