The Cannone da 75/27 modello 11 is an Italian 75mm towed field gun from both world wars and the interwar period. In the basic version, the gun's own weight in the combat position was 1070 kg. The maximum range of the weapon reached approx. 10,200 m. However, the projectile fired from this cannon reached the initial speed of 502 m / s.
The Cannone da 75/27 modello 11 was a gun produced under the license of the French rapid fire gun wz. 1897 of the same caliber. The implementation and development of modello 11 was led by the same French engineer who led the development of the gun wz.1897, i.e. Albert Deport. The new Italian cannon had a double-tailed handguard and an unusual retractor. During World War I, Cannone da 75/27 modello 11 was one of the main and basic firearms of Italian artillery. It remained in the Italian arsenals after 1918, and at the beginning of the next World War it was adapted to mechanical traction by adding wheels with pneumatic tires. A large part of them was assigned to Italian cavalry units. It was used by the Italian army until the ceasefire of 1943.
